Proverbs 3:11-12

11 aMy son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
12for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
as ba father the son in whom he delights.

Isaiah 1:5

5 Why will you still be cstruck down?
Why will you dcontinue to rebel?
The whole head is sick,
and the whole heart faint.

Jeremiah 7:28

28And you shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, and did not accept discipline; etruth has perished; it is cut off from their lips.

Zephaniah 3:2

2She listens to no voice;
fshe accepts no correction.
gShe does not trust in the Lord;
she does not draw near to her God.

Hebrews 12:5-11

5And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

hMy son, ido not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6For jthe Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7It is for discipline that you have to endure. kGod is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8If you are left without discipline, lin which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to mthe Father of spirits nand live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, othat we may share his holiness. 11 pFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields qthe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
